The Glasses

Well may as well start with one that caused a certain Aussie to tell me to make this blog.
I was inspired by this poem when I broke my glasses and spent a day walking around without them.
I was just so awestruck at how everything felt different.

The Glasses
They crack! and fall!
The sapphires open
and are free at last.

The glass gone, they
can see the world
in a full scope.

It is full and filling
It is beautiful
and pleasing to the sapphires

But it is fuzzy and unclear
Out-of-focus and blurry,
But all together beautiful.

The topazes, emeralds, and quartzes
all gather and whisper
and stare at the sapphires

"I didn't know your sapphires existed
They look so nice"
The whisper in astonishment

The sapphires are excited
They have never seen the world
in such entirety.

One day they walk in a fuzzy room
Bright lights are shined.
Fuzzy letters dance

A liquid is dropped,
on each sapphire
and they grow huge.

The lights so bright!
They burn! They hurt!
OH please let them leave!

Finally the sapphires recover.
Something is approaching,
Something clear.

The glasses slipped on
The sapphires scream and choke
The twinkle dies, they turn to stone
As they close, one last twinkle comes
A gooey diamond falls and slides down the crescent moon.
